Pacific Trauma Treatment Center

Trauma Specialist, EMDR, Somatic Healing, Marriage Counsell

My name is Jacqueline (Jacqui) Woods, and I am the founder of Pacific Trauma Treatment Center, a leading provider of Holistic Trauma Therapy. Some of the modalities I use are Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing (commonly known as EMDR), Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART), Brain Spotting, Somatic  Healing, & Marriage Counselling. I offer a unique therapeutic approach that combines cutting-edge neuro-science and evidenced-based protocols with advanced and highly effective holistic healing practices. When these methods are combined, I have found that they significantly reduce mental health symptoms while also allowing for a deeper transformative experience.

After receiving my BA in Clinical Psychology from UCLA in 1991, I decided to postpone graduate school for a while to study holistic forms of healing. I was particularly interested in the Body-Mind-Spirit connection and aimed to understand how the challenges we face affect us on every level. I also wanted to explore what makes true healing possible, sensing that talk therapy alone was only one aspect that needed to be addressed.

During this decade-long journey, I established a private practice in holistic body work, where I applied a variety of body-centric therapies to help clients heal physically, emotionally, and energetically, while achieving a deeper sense of internal balance. I became certified in multiple key alternative healing practices, including Deep Tissue Massage, Cranio-Sacral Therapy, Somato-Emotional Release Therapy, and Pranic Healing. Additionally, I earned certifications as a pre and post-partum Doula and studied the Intuitive Healing Arts. Much of my education came from an incredible teacher who trained me in advanced meditation and healing techniques, imparting valuable insights into human evolution and the raising of consciousness.

I returned to school and received a Master's Degree in Clinical Psychology in 2000 from Antioch University. My training and work as a therapist over the last 24 years have greatly enriched my knowledge base, allowing me to sharpen my focus on clients' needs. I have become certified in multiple evidenced-based protocols that utilize advances in neuro-science, scientifically proven to significantly reduce, and often resolve, the symptoms they address. Today, in my private practice, I combine holistic healing practices with these evidenced-based protocols to provide my clients with a rich, multi-layered, and effective healing experience.

Jacqueline's Practice Style

Most clients describe me as having a style that is more direct and interactive than many other therapists they’ve seen. I attribute this to having a higher than average level of engagement during sessions and an honest and direct approach. I strive to guide clients towards getting to the heart of the matter so that real progress can be made, and I love helping people do this.

My style is also more relaxed and you might see a bit more of “Me” in the room than you would with other practitioners. I think my style, along with the unique insights and tools I offer, extend from my diverse background in the healing arts prior to becoming a licensed therapist. This background has given me multiple and varied lenses with which to view a person and some non-traditional tools to offer to them as they address the challenges they are facing.
